update on vetting for the 9 pugs

Daisy- lost 10 teeth today in dental and had spay done
Brandy- lost 2 teeth and spay
Penny lost 2 teeth and spay and growth removed from back leg.  was going into heat so on rimadyl and antibiotics for dental ( all 3 on antibiotics).  Told to keep calm and quiet so she is confined to a crate for a couple of days till swelling goes down. She is a pretty sore kid right now.

Jenny went in today and needs:

1. Uterus is infected (smear verified)

2. Severe Dental needs most pulled-mouth also infected

3. Needs echocardiogram (can't be done at Castleton) heart issues may be due to infection in mouth being prolonged

4. Left eye globe rupture and never taken out

5. Right eye nearly blind from exposure keratitis

6. Needs blood work peri-operative

Looking into moving her to rutland vt vet to see if they can do it all there..

Beau going in tomorrow to vets.. more to come on them..

weds 3:50 pm update

Just got in the vet records on all 9 puggers.. ALL HW NEGATIVE!!!  yippie- huge relief!!

they all had their dhpp, rabies, bordatella, panacur, revolution, capstar, and meds for a parasite they are all getting meds for just in case.. weights look good on most of them- between 16-20 #.

Sasha will be having her eye removed when she arrives.  its safer and better in the long run:(.

they will all be picked up friday afternoon/evening and staying with Chrissy the driver and leaving in the am to come north!  She will arrive Sunday Am and then we will work on moving the puggers north to various foster homes.    I will be posting them on the website very soon as I am busy all weekend and no time to do it then..

Tuesday night check in 944pm

OK the other 7 went to the vets, all have eye issues- mainly pk, All 7 pugs are hw negative.. so just waiting on sasha and faith's results.  The vet says they all have ear mites, and have some parasite- so were all given panacur.  Well tomorrow we will have more pictures..

More tomorrow- hoping all 9 are hw positive

hugs
thanks for keeping up with this..

monday- pugs starting to go to vets now

Sasha and Faith went to the vets, all shots done hw test done and blood panel too and health certs and given drontal for worms.  Sasha's ulcer is deep they said.  This vet discounts 25% for rescues!  They are one of SEPRA's vets so I am so happy they are going there for these two anyhow..

Sasha needs surgery- there is no med option:( its a long standing deep ulcer.  She will be needing eye removal or corneal flap surgery ( dont know this at all).  We will have her looked at by an eye vet and see which option is best for the little girl.  She is a precious soul and just a loving little lady.  Dental for her will see lots of teeth coming out:(  typical puppymill pug.  Never cared for so their dentals are always horrid! Estimate her age to be between 5-7 yrs. old.

Faith- mammary gland needs to be removed when she has her spay surgery, dental and hernia repair all done.  on ear meds as her ears were thoroughly gross.

here is a pic of sasha's eye close up.. till next update tomorrow..(today) lol

Day two of freedom

Day two started off with Faith going to the vets for emergency vetting on her mammary as it had a cut in it and looked very bad.  They said did not feal or see any tumor but thought she had mastitis for a while to get that bad:( So shot of antibiotics and will keep an eye on it.

Monday Sasha and Beau both going in for vetting.  Beau for recheck of his paw and Sasha is a black female with what sure looks like an ulcer so wanted it looked at asap.

here are a couple more pugs.. meet pennie- aka wild child..

and beau from today

and daisy- all black and healthy - wet food aggressive

9 pugs saved from miller in GA

We saved 9 pugs yesterday from a miller in GA that was going out of business! YEAH.. our pug angels that helped make this happen are Sabrina who we have worked with before to save a senior pug in GA named sebastian ( who is now one spoiled little man) and Stacey and Toni that had the daunting feat of having all the pugs there till today when they get separated into groups for fosters to pick up for the week. They will be moving to Vermont through a paid transporter this Sat and be here in brattleboro this Sunday.

Beau the lone male had a sore foot and needed to see an er vet yesterday. He was given an injectible antiobiotic that would work faster and longer and Toni was told to give him epsom baths 3x day till its looking better. He loves giving kisses and thanking people for saving him and caring for him. He is in this picture kissing on a volunteer.:)

All 9 pugs are sooo sweet and great natured. we have named them all and will introduce you to them all one by one:)

we are fundraising for the 900 transport fee. If you are on facebook, look up green mtn pug rescue and become a fan. There you will see the link to donate if you so choose- thanks!!! every bit helps!!
